Nebraska? Who knew!
As much as I hate to admit it, Nebraska has always just been that reeeaaaallly wiiiiiide state that was in-between me and where I wanted to go. It was a long drive with not much to look at, but a drive out west always required going through Nebraska or Kansas (another of my least favorite states). This trip I had my hotel stays set and ended up getting into town a little early, which left some time to explore. Because of great suggestions by my husband and our good friends, I was able to find a few fun things to do that just may change my mind about Nebraska. I guess there is beauty in every neck of the woods, you just have to look for it.
As long as we’re on the path of judging a book by its cover, if I hadn’t been to Colorado or seen it on most Rocky Mountain guidebooks, entering Colorado from the northeast corner would have totally turned me off to that state. Boring! The only good thing was the speed limit was 75, so you could get through it as quickly as possible and onto the good stuff.
