More of the Door: Finale
We continue our tour of the Door with great buildings, goats on a roof, and the shopping and eating you've come to expect on the peninsula.
More of the Door: Part One
Don't expect to see all of the Door in a weekend. For shopping, a play, a few nature trails, and a round of golf, you'll need a lot more days!
Southern Door County Barn Quilts
Although Shawano is considered the Barn Quilt Capital of WI, Door County has quite a few! This week I found a great map to help me find them.
Cave Point County Park
Cave Point is located on the southeastern side of the peninsula and is definitely worth the drive to check it out. It's absolutely beautiful!
Baileys Harbor
We usually stay on the western side, but the eastern side of Door County is more relaxing with great lake views and interesting lighthouses.
Newport State Park
A fabulous day at Newport State Park offers lots of great trails and some awesome Lake Michigan views, as well as a beautiful lighthouse.
Washington Island
Two nights on the Island allowed most of my travel day for exploration here and one day to take the ferry to Rock Island (my previous blog).
Rock Island
This is Wisconsin's most isolated park – wooded and undisturbed. No cars or bikes are allowed, but 6.5 miles of trails will keep you busy.
