Bay State Getaway Recap
Blogposts from our Bay State Getaway are finally complete. This post provides an outline of what we saw and links to posts about each stop.
Wow-Worthy Waterfalls
When a friend shared a post with the very best waterfalls in New York, we immediately added these two to our route back home. WOW!
Waterfalls, History, and Art
This post finishes off our extensive list of things to see during our time in Massachusetts. As great as it was, I'm sure we'll be back.
Another Day, Another Mansion
Naumkeag is known for its fabulous gardens and its Berkshire "cottage". Today this Gilded Age mansion was all decked out for Halloween!
A Vanderbilt Mansion
How would you spend a huge inheritance received during the Gilded Age? Build a mansion (or two or three), of course!
First Lady of the World
Today we'll continue the Hyde Park experience at Eleanor Roosevelt's Val-Kill country cottage. Eleanor deserved a post of her own!

Hyde Park Overnight
We booked an overnight to visit FDR's home, Library and Museum, and Eleanor's retreat. A Vanderbilt Mansion is a National Historic Site?
Bridges, Blooms & Beyond
Today we also saw waterfalls and potholes and discovered Galumpkis. The colors are coming on nicely, which adds to the marvelous of MA.
A Bounty of Bridges
We left early this morning with an extensive list of covered bridges to explore. Beautiful blue skies and warm temps made this a perfect day.
Day Trip to North Adams
Today's outings included a walk in the woods and beautiful white marble cliffs with great mountain views – and just a hint of Autumn.
