Life is Short.

Take Time to Travel.

Live vicariously through my travels while you’re in-between yours!

Vacations were a huge part of my childhood and now road trips keep us busy during retirement. We try to make the journeys as exciting as the destinations.

At the end of each trip, I always include a “recap” which includes what we saw, where we stayed, and a link to each post. My hope is to inspire you to use every one of your vacation days. Enjoy!

Our Latest Adventures

I don't do this often, but I didn't get very far on my "Eight State Getaway" posts anyway, so the rest are getting the boot (for now) in favor of a series from our latest winter road trip. I'll try to skim over some of the other stuff before we get to our absolutely fabulous stops in Utah. I can hardly wait to get started on these posts, so follow my facebook page so you'll know when each new post is complete!

Please excuse the mess on older posts while I update my site.

  • Desert View Watchtower

To start at the beginning of this series, visit The [...]

  • Grand Canyon

    Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon is at the TOP of our favorites list in Arizona! [...]

  • The Petrified Forest

Route 66 – East of Flagstaff

We shouldn't have included the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest into this day trip. The drive back was way too long, and into the sun.

  • Route 66 – West of Flagstaff

We spent many hours on Route 66 on 2 day-trips. Lots of history, nostalgic signs, old cars, burger joints and burros took us back in time.

  • Montezuma Castle

A Castle and a Ghost Town

Day 3 was a splendid day with a stop at Montezuma Castle and lunch atop the "J" mountain in Jerome. Both were relaxing and full of history!

  • Verde Canyon Railroad

    Tuzigoot, choo choo

Day 2 included two great stops that were pretty close to Sedona to make this a wonderful (relatively short) day.

Life is Short. Take Time to Travel.

Use every one of your vacation days my friends. And consider a journal of your experiences, so you can remember some little detail that will make you smile for years to come.
