Life is Short.

Take Time to Travel.

Live vicariously through my travels while you’re in-between yours!

Vacations were a huge part of my childhood and now road trips keep us busy during retirement. We try to make the journeys as exciting as the destinations.

At the end of each trip, I always include a “recap” which includes what we saw, where we stayed, and a link to each post. My hope is to inspire you to use every one of your vacation days. Enjoy!

Our Latest Adventures

Posts from our 2026 road trip – aptly titled "The Spectacular Southwest" – are coming along. Follow my facebook page so you'll know when there's a new one. The "Eight State Getaway" series will continue once these posts are complete.

Please excuse the mess on older posts while I update my site.

  • Some Highlights of Sedona

Sedona's mild mid-February temps and abundant sunshine meet our requirements for escaping winter. And then there are the excellent views!

  • One of Seven Natural Wonders

Gazing out into the Grand Canyon in mid-February is not ideal, but the sun shined brightly and traces of snow were beautiful on the red rock.

  • A Postcard Around Every Corner

This post is loaded with pretty pictures of the magnificent red rocks of Sedona, AZ. Every time we visit, we find our new favorite viewpoint.

  • At Home in Phoenix

This is the only post from Phoenix this time, but it's a good one – if you like quilts, fiber art, musical instruments, and hot-air balloons.

  • All Around Tucson

This post covers walks in the desert, an otter-copter, a night out, a mission renovation that's finally done, and another gorgeous sunset.

  • Our Casita in the Desert

We begin our AZ stay in Tucson in an Airbnb in the desert amongst the cactus and birds. We were close and yet so far from the city madness.

Use every one of your vacation days my friends. And consider a journal of your experiences, so you can remember some little detail that will make you smile for years to come.
